Tiruchirapalli district unit of Tamil Nadu Thowhed Jamaath (TTJ) has decided to extend its support to the ruling AIADMK nominee and sitting MP P Kumar in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.


TTJ's Tiruchirapalli district president M Nazeer Ahammed in a press release here today said a resolution to this effect was adopted at the party's meeting held here.

He said the meeting thanked the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa for appointing a minority commission in order to increase the exclusive reservation for the Muslim minorities in education and jobs and called upon the Muslims to vote for the ruling AIADMK nominee Mr Kumar in the April 24 Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Kumar assured that he would fight for the rights and welfare of the Muslim minorities, if he was re-elected.

Among others, including TTJ's State Secretary Siraj, District Secretary R Y Jaheer Hussain and others spoke.
