Jammu and Kashmir government has initiated action against 22 officials of different government departments who were found absent from duty in north Kashmir.


Officials said to ensure punctuality in government offices, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Handwara inspected various offices yesterday. During the inspection, he found 22 officials of Public Health Engineering (PHE) Division Handwara, Primary Health Centre Chowgal and Forest Protection Force Office Handwara missing from their duty without permission.

The officer ordered immediate initiation of disciplinary action against the absentees.

On April 4, during checking the attendance of 19 employees of 10 departments including Public Health Engineering, Education, Labour, Medical, Industries, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) and Handloom were found missing from duty without authorisation in north Kashmir district of Bandipora.

On April 3, action was initiated against 19 such absentees.
