Charging Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi with misleading the people of Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party today challenged him to reveal his party's stand on whether fresh assembly elections should be held in Delhi or not.

Reacting to Mr Gandhi's attack on AAP at a rally in South Delhi, AAP, in a statement here, said, ''Mr Rahul Gandhi, whose party entered into an open alliance with the BJP in the Delhi assembly on February 14 to vote against the AAP government's Janlokpal bill, is now making an unsuccessful attempt to mislead the public.

''AAP challenges Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi to reveal his party's stand on whether fresh assembly elections should be held in Delhi.''

Blaming the UPA Government at the Centre of keeping Delhi under the President's rule, rather than hold fresh assembly elections, the AAP said, ''If Mr Gandhi is so concerned about the people of Delhi, then why is the UPA's central government keeping the national capital under President's rule.

''Why is Mr Gandhi's Congress party running away from making its stand public even before the Supreme Court on whether fresh assembly elections should be held ?'' Addressing the rally, Mr Gandhi, in his attack on the AAP, accused them of running away from Delhi after forming the Government.

''Those who were running the Delhi government ran out of Delhi. Some went to Uttar Pradesh, some to other places,'' he said .

The Amethi MP said the Congress supported the AAP Government in Delhi because they wanted to respect the verdict of the electorate.

''We supported the opposition AAP government in Delhi because we wanted to respect the will of the people,'' he said.

In a swipe at the AAP promises of free water and cheap electricity, he said, ''it is very easy to make false promises. But, the very people who formed the Delhi Government ran away from here.''
