AAP candidate in Bangalore confident of making mark
Aam Admi Party candidate from Bangalore Central and former Infosys CFO, V Balakrishnan, today called for rejecting both Congress and the BJP in the coming Lok Sabha election as 37 per cent of the candidates fielded by the two parties had faced criminal charges or already convicted.
Speaking at a road show in the city, the second week since he began intense road shows across the segment, Mr Balakrishnan said he was confident of AAP victory as people were fed up with criminalisation of politics and elected members becoming self centred.
'Majority of people in Bangalore Central, Don't even know who is the current MP from their constituency. I am assured that this time Bangalore will create history, and the people will see a difference,' he said.
He said the time people of the tech hub voted for a particular political party was ending and the debate will be on who would serve them better.
His comments comes in the wake of his former colleague and Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani entering fray to fight against BJP's Ananth Kumar in high-profile Bangalore South.
'This time the people of Bangalore will vote depending on the credentials of the candidate. This time the people will vote for change. There are so many candidates with criminal background in Congress and BJP, people will opt for others who deserve to be elected,' he added.
Karnataka goes to poll on April 17.
