Rahul would be at helm if UPA gets another chance: Antony
Congress vice president Rahul would be prime ministerial choice if the party-led United Progressive Alliance got a chance to form government after the forthcoming general election in the country, Working Committee member and Defence Minister A K Antony today said.
Talking to a private satellite channel he said mass support of Rahul Gandhi was improving throughout the country as has been witnessed during electioneering.
Hoping to get more alliance partners for the UPA after the polls, he said the details cannot be divulged at this juncture adding its strength will not deplete below 100 mark.
He said the UPA will not shut its doors before any political parties that are intended to keep Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi from assuming the highest office.
The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) may improve its strength but the electorate would not give enough majority to form a government at the Centre.
He said it was a propaganda campaign by the corporate that the BJP would be getting an absolute majority in the hustings.
The party and the government had failed to create awareness among people against campaign launched against the UPA on corruption, he admitted.
