United Democratic Front (UDF) Convener P P Thankachan today alleged that there was a secret deal between CPI(M) and BJP in the state for vote trading.

Addressing a news conference here, Mr Thankachan said BJP would not open its account in the Lok Sabha election in the state.

The victory of CPI(M) candidates would not affect national level politics so they wanted to ensure that number of Congress seats was reduced and hence they had a deal to shift votes in favor of LDF candidates, Mr Thankachan alleged.

He said UDF was extremely confident and there was no anti- incumbency factor against the government and the people feeling was in favor of UDF.

To a question, Mr Thankachan said there was no talks held for reorganization of cabinet.
