Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Leaders Prakash Javadekar and Naresh Gujral arrived in the city today, probably to make a last-ditch effort to seal a seat-sharing deal with the Telugu Desam party for the ensuing elections.


Despite protracted parleys between the leaders of the two parties on the issue spread over several days,an accord agreeable to both the TDP and the BJP has eluded so far.

TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu, who was to release the first list of his party candidates last night, held it back at the request of BJP leaders who are expected to hold talks with TDP leaders during the course of the day on seat-sharing.

After the completion of talks between the two parties, Mr Naidu will decide on releasing the TDP list of nominees, according to party sources.

Meanwhile, Congress leaders from Telangana, including Uttamkumar Reddy, D K Aruna and Vivek reached Delhi to meet party general secretary in charge of the party affairs in the state to discuss, among other things,probable party nominees for the coming elections.
