Pakistani captain Misbah-ul-Haq has urged his team to challenge Australia during the Test series between the two countries in October in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Pakistan achieved its fastest run chase of 302 to beat Sri Lanka in the third and final Test in Sharjah on Monday, levelling the three-match series 1-1.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Misbah hoped that his team could improve itself further to challenge Australia in the upcoming series, adding that they will have to incorporate a lot of hard work and focus as Australia is a very professional team and tend to come out with lot of plans.

However, Misbah said that it would also be a challenge for Australia when it faces Pakistani spinners in the conditions at UAE, adding that his team would try to repeat its performance against world No.1 Test side South Africa last October, drawing the two-match series 1-1.

Misbah, who has won 12 Tests out of 27, also said that as he has a young team, it is important to win matches against big nations as it would give them confidence for the future.
