SC stays counting of votes polled in Andhra municipal elections
The Supreme Court today stayed the counting of votes, polled in the municipal elections held in Andhra Pradesh on March 30.
Giving its verdict in response to an appeal against the recent judgement of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, which had directed the State Election Commission to take up the counting of votes and declare the results on April 9, the apex court directed the Election Commission not to declare the results.
After postponing the final hearing to April 7, the apex court also directed the state election commission to submit a report on the issue.
