BJP president Rajnath Singh will file his nomination papers from Lucknow Lok Sabha seat here tomorrow.


Mr Singh would reach Lucknow this evening after campaigning and will file his nominations tomorrow at around 1230 hrs.

Before filing the nomination, the BJP president will hold a meeting with the state party leaders and the workers of Lucknow at the state party office in the morning.

BJP MP and representative of the party president Lalji Tandon said here today that Mr Singh would go to the collectorate in a procession.

Tomorrow, Congress candidate and former UP Congress president Rita Bahuguna Joshi will too file her nomination papers.

Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has sent his blessings to Mr Singh and his 'Angvastram'(stole) which would be worn by Mr Singh during the filing of the nomination tomorrow.

The angvastram has been sent to the BJP president by Mr Vajpayee, who is ill, through his close confidant Shiv Kumar.

Mr Vajpayee used to wear this angvastram while filing his nomination in Lucknow in the past. Mr Vajpayee has represented Lucknow seat five time in a row from 1991 to 2009.
