Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Santosh Chowdhary, who has been denied ticket from Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh, today denied reports that she had accused the Congress of selling tickets but admitted that she lacked money and muscle power.

In her statement, Ms Chowdhary referred to a news report quoting Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal that Ms Chowdhary was on record alleging that she could not afford money to get the Lok Sabha ticket.

''I have definitely mentioned that I do not have money and muscle power and my honesty and integrity have won over money and muscle power; but I never meant that the Congress is taking money from aspirants,'' Ms Chowdhary said.

She said it was people who were rich and have money and muscle power who have beaten people like me in the race for getting tickets. ''I reiterate that I have never said that the party is selling tickets for money and rebut this statement categorically,'' Ms Chowdhary said.
