The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is all set to issue locals, tokens for darshan on Tuesdays of Sri Venkateswara Temple by opening a separate counter at CRO here.

Following the long pending request from locals to provide tokens for darshan, TTD approved the proposal which will be applicable for those staying within the limits of Tirupati Corporation, Tirumala and Tiruchanoor Panchayats on 'First Tuesday'(most often) of every month. This came into force in February. The darshan tokens will be issued on first Sunday.

In the first month, TTD issued 1000 tokens while in the second month, 5000 tokens had been issued in Mahati Auditiorium on first-cum-first serve basis to the locals, TTD said in a release here today.

However over the request of Tirumala residents to set up separate counters in Tirumala, TTD had decided to issue 4500 tokens for Tirupati and Tiruchanoor residents at Mahati Auditorium and remaining 500 tokens at CRO in Tirumala for the locals of hill town.

The locals should bring their original Aadhar Card to get the darshan tokens on April 6, added the release.
