Devegowda calls for defeating Cong & BJP for betraying people
Janata Dal (S) President H D Devegowda today called for defeating both Congress and the BJP, as the national parties have badly failed to serve and betrayed the people of Karnataka since last 15 years in the elections to be held on April 17.
Speaking after releasing a handbook at JD(S) office in the city, Mr Gowda said the governments led by these two parties never bothered to bring tangible solution to vexed Cauvery River water dispute between South Indian states.
'There has been a number of failures during both NDA and UPA governments and people remained deprived due to lack of action by the Centre in favour of Karnataka,' he said.
Coming down against the Congress government in Karnataka, Mr Gowda said the Siddaramaiah government provided rice at rupee one a kilo but there was no water to cook it.
'The State is reeling under water shortage and this is only the beginning of summer. The Chief Minister is busy reeling out most abusive remarks against the opponents. This is condemnable as under the Congress rule the Political sanity has been outraged,' Mr Gowda alleged.
