Contrary to expectations, a formal announcement on electoral tie-up between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for the ensuing General Elections did not materialise today as the politics alliance talks are still in progress in Delhi.

The leaders of the BJP and members of the TDP committee dealing with alliance issue participated in marathon talks at the residence of BJP leader Naresh Gujral.

Senior BJP Leader Arun Jaitley also took part in the parleys.

M Narshimloo, one of the members of the TDP committee who also took part in the talks, said an agreement on seat-sharing between the two parties would be announced latest by tomorrow.

He predicted there would be a hung Assembly in Telangana after the elections adding there was no chance for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) to form a government in the new state.

According to sources, the TDP, had agreed to concede 45 assembly and eight Lok Sabha seats to BJP in Telangana.
