Swine Flu claims second life in port city
Swine flu claimed its second victim in the Port City this year with the death of a 35-year-old man at a private corporate hospital here today.
According to District Health officials, "The man, who was infected with H1N1 virus, died at the hospital located in Gajuwaka this morning."
"He was from Sriharipuram locality in the Port and was admitted to the hospital on March 26 with pneumonia and was spitting blood and coughing."
This was the second death due to swine flu in the city in this year. Earlier, a woman in her mid-twenties and in advanced stage of pregnancy died on January 29.
He was immediately put on ventilator and doctors started treatment for swine flu.
The tests confirmed swine flu on March 28 and he continued to be on ventilator as his lung had collapsed.
