'I will join the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) on April 3 here,' Mr Marandi said.

There is, Mr Marandi said, no future of the Congress in the region and it is for the welfare of the people that he had decided to put in his resignation and join hands with the regional outfit floated by former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi.
Congress cadres of Santhal Parganas were opposed to the party's alliance with JMM ever since the formation of the Hemant Soren-led coalition government and had pleaded with the leadership to desist from what they described as misadventure.
Recently, several party workers belonging to Dumka and Masaliya units of the Congress had also resigned.
