Circumstancial evidence hinted CPI (M) role in Chandrasekharan murder: Antony
Great happiness expressed by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) leadership over denial by the CBI to probe T P Chandrasekharan murder case clearly hinted that they had a role in the incident here about two years ago, Congress Working Committee member A K Antony today said.
Talking to reporters here, he said over exultation by their leaders and bursting crackers to welcome the CBI decision yesterday had shown that they had a definite role in the conspiracy angle of the dastardly murder at Vallikkode near Vatakara on May 4, 2012.
'What more circumstantial evidence is needed on their role in the murder?' he asked.
He said the CPI (M) had opposed a CBI probe into the case tooth and nail as they were afraid that the central agency would be able to establish their role.
Stating that the truth would come out definitely, he said the CBI's word on the issue was not final.
He said the State Government had recommended a CBI probe latching on a letter by CPI (M) and Leader of the Opposition V S Achuthanandan.
People would like to know his stand on the issue now, Mr Antony added.
