LDF Convenor demands Kerala CM's resignation
LDF Convenor Vaikom Viswan today demanded the resignation of Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy following a CBI inquiry by the Kerala High Court in a landgrab case in which a former gunman of the Chief Minister was allegedly involved.
In a Meet the Press programme at Press Club here, he alleged that Mr Chandy was the 'most corrupt' politician Kerala has ever seen as many staff of his office were involved in many corruption cases.
'His own cabinet colleague K C Joseph is defending the Chief Minister as part of a strategy to defame the judiciary, diverting the attention from the real issue', he said.
He also reminded a similar situation in the controversial Palmolin Case, in which the Vigilance Court Judge made some remarks against the Chief Minister.
Later, a false propaganda was launched against the judge, who withdrew from hearing the case.
Claiming that Congress-led UPA would not get a clear majority in the upcoming Loksabha elections, he said Left parties would take initiative to form a government at the Centre with the support of secular parties.
