Ahmed Shehzad's unbeaten 111, helped Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 50 runs in a World T20 match here on Sunday.

Shehzad's knock helped Pakistan post 190 for five on the scorecard.

Pakistani bowlers later restricted Bangladesh at 140 for seven.

With Sunday's victory, Pakistan have reached a position where they could reach the semi-finals of the tournament by beating West Indies in their next match of the tournament.

Shehzad smashed 10 boundaries and five sixes in his 62-ball knock.

Kamran Akmal (9), Mohammad Hafeez (8) and Umar Akmal (0) failed to contribute with their willows.

Shoaib Malik (26) and Shahid Afridi (22) made some significant contributions with their willows and gave good support to Shehzad.

Abdur Razzak picked up two wickets for Bangladesh.

Umar Gul later picked up three and spinner Saeed Ajmal scalped two as Pakistan restricted Bangladesh to 140 for seven in 20 overs.

Shakib Al Hasan top-scored for Bangladesh with his 38.
