BJP, Modi blind to UPA's development work: Congress
Congress leader Jai Prakash Aggarwal on Thursday said his party believes in implementing its poll manifesto, and said people like Narendra Modi are blind to the development work done by the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government in the last ten years.
"There are two kinds of people, first, those who believe in doing what they say, and the other which just makes noise and does nothing else. The Congress has always believed in implementing its promises. Whatever promises that we have made in the last ten years, have been fulfilled and, we are taking those policies forward. Right to Food, Right to Education, MGNREGA, Right to Employment, Right to Health. Some of them have already been made, while others are in our manifesto. Can't they see all of these? If they are keeping their eyes shut and don't see what the government has done, then it is quite strange to be making any comments," Aggarwal said.
Earlier, Congress president Sonia Gandhi had said that her party's manifesto is a sacred document and not a ritual as it was for "some other parties".
In response to Sonia's comments, Modi had tweeted saying "manifestos are sacrosanct, but today's Congress manifesto was a joke! It repeated all the promises they haven't been able to fulfil since 2004."
