Michelle Obama's Westin Hotel presidential suite comes with a USD 8K price tag
Michelle Obama, who is staying at the presidential suite in the 5-star Westin Hotel at Chaoyang during her trip to China, is spending 8,400 dollars per night.
The price, which was earlier deemed as too expensive for vice president Joe Biden when he made the trip in December, had led him to stay at St. Regis Hotel instead, the Washington Times reported.
According to Federal Business Opportunities' documents, Biden was looking for something cheaper during his visit and when compared to St. Regis, Westin Hotel was expensive even after price reduction.
Biden, who chose the cheaper option, ultimately paid 384,479 dollars for 213 hotel rooms.
The First Lady, who is on a weeklong trip to the region for what the White House described as a "person-to-person" soft diplomatic tour, is reportedly staying at the Westin with her daughters and mother.
