New Delhi, Mar 24 : The Supreme Court on Monday rejected the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI's) plea for cancellation of Unitech Managing Director (MD) Sanjay Chandra's bail in connection with the 2G spectrum allocation scam.
The apex court has granted Chandra bail in November 2011.
The CBI said after getting bail, Chandra had tried to approach the then CBI prosecutor AK Singh and influence the conduct and outcome of his trial.
In perhaps the biggest scam in Independent India, allegedly masterminded by former telecom minister A Raja, spectrum was given away at throwaway prices in 2008 causing a potential revenue loss of up to Rs 1.76 lakh crore.
