New Delhi, Mar 23 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Sunday shared the stage with yogaguru Baba Ramdev here and said if the policies of the Centre were worthwhile then yoga could have been used to unite the world.

"If the Indian government had framed proper policies then yoga could have been used to unite the whole world," Modi said while addressing at the Yoga Mahotsav .

"Yoga could have been our cultural ambassador and we could have used it as a medium to reach out to the world," he said.

Modi said he liked issues like stopping corruption and bringing back black money to India, which have been raised by Baba Ramdev, and he respected them.

"His issues are such which are liked by people like me. But these issues are giving sleepless nights to many," the Gujarat Chief Minister said.

Praising Baba Ramdev, Modi later tweeted: "Congrats to @yogrishiramdev and his team for organising Yog Mahotsav! Crores of people across India joined the Mahotsav through technology. It was believed Yoga was something only seers did in caves but @yogrishiramdev has made Yoga a mass movement and awakened the entire nation."
