Congress leader Nandan Nilekani on Friday campaigned for his party in his Bangalore South constituency ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

"Over the past three weeks, Nilekani is suddenly seen eating idlis at darshinis asking for ideas for Bangalore, taking a bus to the local football match, playing badminton one day and cricket the next, participating in cyclothons, and, not to be left behind, seeking the blessings of seers of the majority Vokkaliga community and doing padayatras in Bismillah Nagar," reported CNN-IBN.

The former Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) chairman formally joined the Congress party on Mar 9.

Even before joining, he had bagged the Lok Sabha polls ticket to contest the election from Bangalore South against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s Ananth Kumar.

His name featured in Congress' first list of candidates.
