BJP announces Vadodara as second constituency for Modi, Advani to contest from Gandhinagar
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday announced Vadodara as the second constituency from where party prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will be contesting the Lok Sabha elections.
Apart from Vadodara, Modi is also contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
The party also announced that veteran party patriarch L.K. Advani will be contesting the elections from Gandhinagar. There was a speculation that Advani could be opting to contest from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
Advani, 87, has been the sitting MP from Gandhinagar for the last 16 years.
The party has also announced that former Defence Minister Jaswant Singh will contesting the elections from Dahod constituency.
Meanwhile, the BJP has fielded Hema Malini from Mathura, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore from Jaipur Rural, newly joined Jagdambika Pal from Domariaganj and Ashwini Chaubey from Buxar, Bihar.
