Suspected Bodo militants opened fire Saturday in Assam's Udalguri town killing a person, a day after five bus passengers were gunned down in Kokrajhar district, officials said.

Suspected militants of the anti-talk faction of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) attacked the bus in Aathiabari Tiniali late Friday, Commissioner (Home) G.D. Tripathy said.

Bihar Saturday announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs.2 lakh for the kin of the migrant workers from the state who were killed in Assam, an official said.
