The boss of nationalised Dutch bank ABN Amro came dressed as a brothel owner for his annual speech to employees.

Former finance minister Gerrit Zalm dressed up as his "sister" Priscilla for the bank's annual cabaret and drew parallels between the banking and prostitution businesses, News.com.au reported.

He also called upon his employees to apply his "core values", which are "trust, expertise and ambition" and said that "we always satisfy the customer".

The video of his speech was posted on its YouTube channel.

ABN Amro was nationalised in 2008 during the financial crisis and Zalm has been at its head since 2009.
