Karunanidhi refuses ticket to Alagiri
Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) supremo M Karunanidhi on Monday refused a ticket to his elder son MK Alagiri for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
According to reports, Alagiri will not contest the polls from his constituency in Tamil Nadu on a DMK ticket.
Asked the reason for refusing a ticket to Alagiri, Karunanidhi told reporters on Monday, "Don't hurt me by asking about him. I won't allow him to contest polls for the DMK."
In January, Karunanidhi said he suspended Alagiri from all party posts because he used harsh words against the former Tamil Nadu chief minister's younger son MK Stalin.
Karunanidhi's two sons - Alagiri and Stalin - have been against each other for long time and their relationships touched new low after Karunanidhi decided to appoint his younger son Stalin as his political heir.
