Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Murli Manohar Joshi on Sunday dismissed reports of a rift over the selection of candidate for the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency and said a decision on the issue will be taken by the party.

"The decision is taken by the parliamentary board. The meeting will take place on March 13," Joshi told reporters.

"The decision that will taken by the party will neither dent the prestige of our Prime Ministerial candidate nor compromise the party's chances of victory," he said today.

Joshi said he will accept the decision which will be taken by the party.

Joshi made the remarks amid reports that he was unhappy that BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi might be fielded by the party from Varanasi constituency in Uttar Pradesh.

Joshi is a sitting MP from Varanasi.
