New Delhi, Mar 6 : Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday moved the Supreme Court against bifurcation of the state and creation of Telangana.

The apex court will hear the matter on Friday.

The newly-formed Telangana state will start functioning as a separate entity from June 2, said reports on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) reportedly confirmed that the Foundation Day of Telangana will be on June 2.

President Pranab Mukherjee on Mar 1 signed the Telangana Bill paving way for the formation of the 29th state of India.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh has been put under President's Rule and the state Assembly has been placed under suspended animation.

The Union Cabinet on Feb 28 approved President's Rule in Andhra Pradesh.

Days after Kiran Kumar Reddy resigned as Chief Minister over the Telangana row, reports said that President's Rule might be imposed in Andhra Pradesh.

A day after the controversial Telangana Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha, Reddy on Feb 19 resigned from his chair as a mark of protest.
