Rashtirya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav on Wednesday said his party has not entered into an alliance with the Congress but has reached a seat-sharing deal.

"We are not with the Congress ... there is no alliance. We have only agreed on a seat-sharing deal during the Lok Sabha elections in Bihar," said Lalu Prasad.

Earlier reports said the Congress has finally entered into an alliance with the RJD in Bihar.

The RJD will field candidates for 27 seats out of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, while Congress will contest in 12 seats.

The Congress will contest in Sasaram, Kishanganj, Supaul, Purnia, Hajipur, Nalanda, Patna Sahib, Balmikinagar, Jamui, Muzaffarpur, Aurangabad and Gaya.

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will contest in one seat in Katihar.
