A statement said the DGP discussed various measures to ensure zero infiltration besides maintaining law and order in these districts.

Prasad directed those managing police stations to provide quick service by having close rapport with people.

He stressed on adopting innovative and scientific methods for prevention and detection of crime. "Such experiences would make police stations centres of excellence," he said.

He said the peaceful conduct of the Lok Sabha and assembly elections are biggest challenges before the state police this year.

"We have to remain vigilant to foil the attempts of anti-national elements", he said adding that the jawans and officers should discharge their duties with utmost dedication and commitment to ensure law and order during elections.

The DGP assured the jawans that their genuine problems would be addressed.

He also gave on-spot directions to supervisory officers to regularly look after the welfare of subordinates.

The DGP also inspected various ongoing constructions in the two districts and enquired about their pace of work. He asked the executing agencies to complete the work within the stipulated time frame, supplementing living and working facilities for the jawans and officers.
