More than 200 sex attacks have been committed against military personnel in the UK Armed Forces in three years, according to new figures.

Between the years 2011 to 2013, around 75 rape allegations and 150 sexual assaults claims were made against military colleagues.

However, one MP said that the bizarre statistics was just the tip of the iceberg, adding that most of the sex crimes were going unreported.

According to Daily Star, the figures come as the investigation ends into the death of Royal Military police officer Anne-Marie Ellement, 30, who committed suicide by hanging herself at her barracks in Bulford, Wilts in 2011, two years after accusing two male colleagues of raping her.

Meanwhile, a Ministry of Defence spokesman said the ministry will ensure that every allegation is thoroughly investigated.
