At least five Indian Army personnel were shot dead by their colleague in North Kashmir, said reports.


Reports said in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, the santri of the Indian Army camp located at Safapora in Ganderbal district of North Kashmir entered the basement and fired on Army jawans.

Five jawans died on the spot and another one was injured.

Reports said that santri later shot himself dead.

Defence spokesman Lt. Col N N Joshi told IBNS: "We are collecting details of the incident. We will be able to speak more on the incident after getting the details."

He further said: "We have ordered a court of inquiry into this incident."
