Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh on Wednesday said the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has "indicated" merger with Congress.

"The TRS has indicated that it is ready to merge with the Congress," said Singh.

TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao along with a delegation met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here on Tuesday.

According to reports, the purpose of the meeting was to thank the PM for the passage of the Telangana Bill in the Parliament.

Rao met Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi here on Monday.

On Sunday, he met Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi giving rise to speculations of a possible political realignment.

"No politics was discussed and it was only a thanksgiving call. I met Soniaji to express my gratitude for the passing of Telangana Bill in Parliament," Rao told media after the meeting.

He said Sonia asked him to stay in touch with Digvijaya Singh.

"Soniaji asked me to stay in touch with Digvijaya Singh," Rao said.

Amid ruckus, uproars and walkouts, the Parliament has finally passed the controversial Telangana Bill, paving way for the creation of the 29th Indian state with only the President now required to put his signature in the paper to make the Bill a law.
