Jammu and Kashmir Police probe Facebook prank

By Saleem Iqbal Qadri, Srinagar, Feb 24 : The Jammu and Kashmir Police have started an investigation to find and arrest the people allegedly responsible for spreading false information on social networking website Facebook and instant chat messenger WhatsApp.
"Some anti-social and mischievous elements have uploaded a frivolous message on WhatsApp chat messenger and Facebook regarding a police strike being observed on March 15," said a police spokesperson.
He said that the police have taken cognizance of the mischief and a First Investigation Report (FIR) has been registered in this regard under the Information Technology Act and the RPC at the Shergari police station here.
The official also informed that the police have constituted a special team to crack the case on an early basis.
He said that the culprits will be arrested soon after being tracked.
