Modi to visit NE India on Feb 22

By Hemanta Kumar Nath, Guwahati, Feb 21 : : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will visit north-east India on Feb 22.

Modi will take part in three rallies in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Tripura during his day-long schedule.

Assam state BJP said that Modi will address the Vijay Sankalp Abhiyan rally at Pashighat in Arunachal Pradesh at around 11 am and later he will address another rally at Silchar in Assam.

"Modi will address a rally at Agartala in Tripura on the same day during his day-long schedule to northeast India," a top official of BJP said.

Security have been beefed up at Pashighat, Silchar and Agartala.

"We have arranged all security measures at the rally ground in Silchar, where at least 1500 security personnel of the Assam Police, para military forces have been deployed," Assam Police ADGP (Law and Order) AP Raut said.

Modi had addressed a huge rally at Guwahati on Feb 8.

On other hand, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi will visit Assam on Feb 25 and Feb 26, while West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamta Banerjee is schedule to visit the state on Feb 26.
