Country capable of taking crucial decisions: PM

New Delhi, Feb 21 : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday said the country is capable of taking some crucial decisions while making his address on the last day of the 15th Lok Sabha here.

"The manner in which Telangana was born is an indication that this country is capable of taking difficult decisions," the Prime Minister said indicating on the passage of the controversial Telangana Bill by the Lower House.

He said the Lok Sabha is capable of rising above partisan politics to take some of the most crucial decision.

"On certain crucial matters, this House has the capacity to rise above partisan politics and find pathways of national reconciliation," Singh said in the Lok Sabha.

"Food Security Bill is yet another landmark legislation," he said.

Unlike the similar picture of disruptions, protests, slogans and uproars in the Lok Sabha in recent times, the leaders were seen speaking well of each other.

The 15th Lok Sabha has passed some vital legislation like the Telangana Bill and the Food Security Bill.
