Vardhan replaced Vijay Goel.

BJP president Rajnath Singh appointed Vardhan after accepting Goel's resignation.

"BJP president Rajnath Singh has accepted Vijay Goel's resignation as the chief of BJP's Delhi unit and appointed senior leader Harsh Vardhan to the post with immediate effect," the BJP said in a statement.

Goel tweeted: "My heartfelt gratitude to the party leadership & karyakartas for lending their continuous support through my journey as BJP Delhi President. On appointment of Dr. Harshvardhan, I call upon BJP Cadres to work even harder to make Shri Narendra Modi Prime Minister."
