YSR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday staged a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, a short distance from the Parliament, over bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and creation of Telangana state.

Meanwhile, five union ministers from Andhra Pradesh, including K Chiranjeevi, Pallam Raju and Daggubati Purandhareswari met Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) patriarch LK Advani before the Parliament session began on Monday.

They requested India's main opposition party to oppose the Telangana Bill in the Parliament.

Advani reportedly advised them not to create a ruckus on the issue in the House and instead try to persuade Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi on the issue.

The Parliament witnessed a dark day in its history as the issue of introduction of the Telanagan Bill triggered ruckus and even the use of pepper spray by parliamentarians which led to the suspension of 16 Andhra Pradesh MPs on Feb 13.

Three parliamentarians were even rushed to hospital.
