YSR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday will stage a protest at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi over bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and creation of Telangana state.

At least 7,000 YSR Congress activists are likely to sit on a dharna with Jagan.

Jagan on Feb 14 called for a shutdown in Andhra Pradesh as a protest against the manner in which the Telangana Bill was tabled in Parliament on Feb 13.

"The Speaker did not even asked for the opinion of the House and simply announced that the Telangana Bill is tabled. This is a sheer mockery of democracy," Jagan told reporters in New Delhi.

The Parliament witnessed a dark day in its history as the issue of introduction of the Telanagan Bill triggered ruckus and even the use of pepper spray by parliamentarians which led to the suspension of 16 Andhra Pradesh MPs on Thursday.

Three parliamentarians were even rushed to hospital.
