Gandhian social activist Anna Hazare has said his one-time lieutenant Arvind Kejriwal should not have stepped down as the Delhi Chief Minister.

"It is unfortunate that Kejriwal resigned. He should not have done that. Lokpal and Mohalla Sabha are important issues that need to be addressed," said Hazare.

The difference between the two anti-corruption crusaders carved its way in after Kejriwal and his team decided to launch the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in 2012.

Hours after the AAP government-backed Jan Lokpal Bill was not tabled in the Delhi Assembly, Kejriwal resigned on Friday after remaining in power for 49 days.
