Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav on Wednesday slammed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and said he is the original 'tea seller'.

"I used to sell tea and biscuits when I was studying in school," Yadav told reporters on a day when Modi launched his "Chai pe Charcha with NaMo'' campaign.

Yadav said the shop still exists.

Attacking Modi over the 2002 Gujarat riots, Yadav said: "When did he sell tea? He sold blood."

Modi has often referred to his humble background while addressing rallies in the country.

"I have sold tea at the railway station and in running trains," Modi had said at a rally earlier.
