BSF seizes 2.8 kgs gold consignment

Kolkata, Jan 16 : The Border Security Force (BSF) troops on Wednesday seized 24 gold biscuits weighing approximately 2.8 Kgs from village Kalyani of Bangaon, and apprehended one Indian national, Amit Haldar (25), here.
According to official reports, troops from Haridaspur border out-post (BOP) under the BSF battalion 40, under police station Bangaon, district - north 24 Parganas; on Wednesday received an input that a gold consignment will be delivered to village Kalitala of Bangaon concealed in the tyre of a bicycle.
The BSF troops immediately put barriers on the road and stopped the suspected bicycle rider and apprehended Haldar, along with approximately 2.8 Kgs gold worth approximately Rs 82 lakhs in market.
The apprehended person and the seized gold biscuits were handed over to the Bangaon police station for further investigations.
