Jammu and Kashmir's former Minister of State for Health Shabir Ahmad Khan, who is accused of sexually assaulting a doctor, on Saturday surrendered before the police in Jammu's Gandhi Nagar police station.

According to reports, he has been flown to Srinagar.

However, the police in Srinagar said they have no information about Khan's surrender and further added that non bailable warrant has been issued against him.

"We have no information about his surrender, but issued non bailable warrant," said a police official.

Khan, who represents Jammu's Rajouri in the state assembly, was booked late Thursday for sexual assault. He later resigned.
