Bhuabeswar, Oct 21: Coinciding with the Konark festival, slated to be held from December 1 in the backdrop of world famous Sun temple, an international sand Art festival would also be organised at Chandrabhaga beach close to the temple.
Orissa Tourism Director Harishankar Upadhaya said the theme of the festival would be ''Tourism linking culture''.
He said at lest ten artists of International repute and 20 artists of national repute had given their consent to take part in the festival.
In addition to the international sand art festival there would be a National sand art festival. The participants of the international sand art festival would be given air fare, accommodation and daily allowance of 200 USD.
The government would give award to three best sand arts participating in the national sand art festival. While the best sand art would be given a cash prize of Rs one lakh, the second will be awarded with Rs 50,000 and the third prize carries a cash prize of Rs 25,000. (UNI)
