Heather Locklear 'under doctor's care', not going to rehab

Washington, Jan 26 : Heather Locklear has decided against admitting herself to rehab following her recent hospitalization for reportedly mixing prescription medication with alcohol.

Locklear instead, wants to seek treatment from a doctor.

Despite the concern of friends and family, the 50-year-old has "decided for now to seek recovery without an in-patient programme."

"Her family and friends haven't given up hope, but they know that for her to get well, she has to want it for herself. She's the only one who can do it," Contactmusic quoted a source as telling People magazine.

It has been reported that the actress was taking Xanax, a drug used to treat anxiety and panic disorder, and her sister Colleen called 911 when Locklear mixed the medication with alcohol.

"Colleen was worried about Heather's state of mind and they were afraid she was going to harm herself ... because of her drinking mixed with medication," a source added. (ANI)
