Rahul Gandhi hits out at Advani, alleges Kushwaha bought BJP

Gorakhpur, Jan 7 : Ridiculing the 'Jan Chetna' rathyatra of BJP senior leader Lal Krishna Advani against corruption, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi today alleged the party which had led a campaign against graft in public life was bought by a corrupt leader Babu Singh Kushwaha.

''It is most condemnable that Kushwaha, expelled from Bahujan Samaj Party on corruption charges, has joined Bharatiya Janata Party,'' he commented while addressing public meetings in Pipraich and Gorakhpur Rural assembly constituencies in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh.

Ridiculing Mr Advani's rathyatra, the Congress MP from Amethi remarked the most corrupt leader was now aboard the same 'rath' of BJP. By inducting Babu Singh Kushwaha, the former Mayawati minister who was expelled in the wake of his involvement in National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam in UP, into the party, the BJP had shown its true face exposing its double-talk on corruption, he alleged.

Mr Gandhi said the saffron party had lost all moral propriety to ever speak against corruption.

Rahul Gandhi is currently on a five-day tour of the region ahead of next month's seven-phase assembly polls. (UNI)
