Finally some focus on regional languages in tech! 🇮🇳 Tamil is spoken by millions and deserves AI tools just like English. Hope this leads to similar projects for other Indian languages too. Great initiative by the government and IIT Madras!

As a Tamilian, I'm so proud of this development! Our language has such rich literature and history - combining it with AI is brilliant. Can't wait to see how this helps preserve our cultural heritage while making technology more accessible to Tamil speakers.

While I appreciate the initiative, I hope the focus remains on actual implementation rather than just announcements. We've seen many 'path-breaking' projects announced that never reach common people. Hope Tamil-AI delivers real solutions for railway bookings, govt services etc.

This is wonderful! 👏 My grandparents struggle with English interfaces - having AI in Tamil will help bridge the digital divide for older generations. Also great to see Tamil Nadu becoming an electronics hub - more jobs for our youth!

Interesting to see Malaysia's involvement too. Tamil is a global language with diaspora in many countries. If implemented well, this could become a model for other Indian languages. But the real test will be in making the technology affordable and user-friendly.

Hope they consider all Tamil dialects in this project. The language varies so much across regions - what works in Chennai may not in Madurai. Also, when will we see similar projects for Hindi, Bengali, Telugu etc? Every Indian language deserves this attention.
