Chennai, Nov 29

The makers of director Suresh Rajakumari's 'Sirai', featuring actors Vikram Prabhu and L K Akshay Kumar in the lead, on Saturday released the lyrical video of the first single from the film, 'Mannichiru', much to the delight of fans and music aficionados.

The film has been produced by well known producer S S Lalit Kumar's Seven Screen Studios.

Taking to its timeline on X to share the link to the just released single, Seven Screen Studios wrote, "#Sirai First single #Mannichiru out now! Singers: @dsathyaprakash @aanandi_j. Lyrics: @justin_tunes. Worldwide in theatres from December 25 @7screenstudio."

Actor Vikram Prabhu too shared the link to the mellifluous number, the title of which means "forgive me" in English, on his X timeline.

The romantic number, which is basically about a man apologising to his sweetheart, has been set to tune by Justin Prabhakaran. Interestingly, music director Justin himself has penned the lyrics for this song, which has been rendered by D Sathya Prakash and Aanandi Joshi.

The story of the film, inspired by real life incidents, is by director Tamizh, best known for having directed the critically acclaimed film 'Taanakaran'. Tamizh is believed to have come up with this story based on a personal experience.

Director Suresh Rajakumari, the co-director of well known director Vetrimaran, has written and directed this film, which will revolve around a police officer and a suspect in custody.

Vikram Prabhu plays the lead in this film and actress Anantha plays his pair in the film, which will also mark the debut of producer SS Lalit Kumar's son, L K Akshay Kumar, as an actor. Actress Anishma plays Akshay Kumar's pair in the film.

Sources say producer S S Lalit Kumar has spared no expense for this big budget film, which boasts of an exceptional technical team.

The film has music by well known music director Justin Prabhakaran. Cinematography for the film is by Madesh Manickam. Editing for the film is by one of the best in the business, Philomin Raj. Stunts have been choreographed by Prabhu. The film has Arun K and Manikandan as its two executive producers.

Shooting for the film, which took place at various places including Chennai, Sivagangai and Vellore, has now been completed. The film is now in its final phase of post production.

Interesting that Justin Prabhakaran composed both music and wrote lyrics. Not many music directors do that in Tamil cinema. The team looks solid with Vetrimaran's co-director and Philomin Raj's editing. High expectations!

Vikram Prabhu always chooses meaningful scripts. The fact that it's based on real incidents and has Tamizh's story makes it more intriguing. Hope it lives up to the hype! 🤞

While the song is nice, I hope the film doesn't rely too much on the producer's son's debut. L K Akshay Kumar needs to prove himself rather than just riding on his father's reputation. The police officer-suspect storyline sounds promising though.

Aanandi Joshi's voice blends so well with Sathya Prakash! The title "Mannichiru" - such a heartfelt Tamil expression for apology. Perfect for romantic situations 😊

As someone who follows Tamil cinema from abroad, it's great to see such detailed technical teams being highlighted. Madesh Manickam's cinematography and Prabhu's stunts should make this visually stunning.
